Sutra 1.5: Vrtti's Help and Hurt

Sutra 1.5: Vrttayah Panchatayyah Klishta Aklishtah

There are five different kinds of fluctuations in the heart/mind space which can either be helpful or harmful

Our mind is the instrument through which our inherent light (sutra 1.3) so desperately wants to shine. We don’t have to go in search of the light, or turn it on, or re-charge its battery, all we have to do is open the window. Opening the window in this case would be freeing the mind of all that is blocking our bliss to bask within. We don’t have to ask the sun to shine, she just does, because she’s the sun. Well that’s you, you are one of her rays, and you don’t have to seek happiness or joy or bliss, you just have to open the blinds. The blinds are the bliss blockers. They are all that we are blind to see is blinding us. In Sutra 1.5, we recognize the five different vrtti’s and how they can either help us recognize our bliss or they can be the bliss blockers.

More often than not we go outside looking for our happy and our whole versus going inside and removing all of our ridiculous rationalizing of the rubbish that does not belong there. The bliss is not to be caught or sought after, it is to be trusted. How many of us believe that we are born of bliss? Or do more of us believe we are born of nothingness or even worse, badness? What if we all identified more deeply with our bliss than our names or our ages or our feelings or our jobs? What if we just knew that bliss was our base line? And the only reason we can’t feel it is because it’s covered up with our piles of bullshit.

Our job is not to go, or get, or accomplish, our job is to believe in our bliss so deeply, so matter of factly, that we fine tune our ability to detect what habits and patterns and tendencies are acting as the blinds and building up piles upon piles of bullshit. And then, one interaction at a time we learn to reverse reaction into response. We can learn to transform our agitation into awareness and then twist just a little to the left or just a tad to the right and adjust our attitude. Once we establish a firm belief in our bliss over our bullshit, every moment of every day is an opportunity to open the blinds and simply be the bliss that is inherent to our being. Open the blinds, believe in your bliss.

Muchas Gracias mi amigos,

May this interpretation hold the power of positivity in your moment, your day, maybe even your week. May you feel the light of your inherent bliss and release any notion of not being whole or good enough or impure. I am grateful for your time and attention.

Blessings and Love,
