Yoga is Fooling People
We regularly interchange yoga from noun to verb, like it’s a place for us go and something for us to do. However, in neither of these scenarios, are we touching upon what the true essence of yoga is, which doesn’t reside at a studio, or in a Downward Facing Dog, but as the state in which we “be.” Yoga is union. It is the marriage of all parts of you, with you, minus the legal contract and the 50k ceremony. There is nothing we can do, or perform, or have, to hit all of the benchmarks that would then qualify us as a grade A “yogi.” Yoga is not something to accomplish and receive a trophy for, it is something to feel.
This feeling, this “being” state is not available for curbside pick up at Costco, or behind the makeup counter at Macy’s, because it is not outside of us, it is simply the allowance we must give ourselves to feel the God or the light within us. This light wants nothing more than to emerge, to shine out into our lives and shower every encounter and interaction we have, with its’ phenomenal brilliance.
We do not have to go about creating the light, or finding it in some obscure spiritual book. What we do need to do, is remove whatever is blocking that light from shining through, to bless our experience. Our mental palate must go from opaque to translucent.
This requires you to become the CEO of your energy. As CEO you do not settle for things to be just “ok.” You do not accept average, no, you require excellence. As CEO, you are open, willing, and ready to do whatever it takes to make your business not only survive, but thrive. And the business we are referencing, is the business of your life. You have the power to fire and the power to hire. Of course firing is hard, letting go of relationships, careers, and numbing behaviors, is no picnic, but you do it, because the success of your business depends on it.
The “success” of your life depends on you, to make the hard choices, manage your team wisely, and communicate compassionately, today. Today, must be so important to us that we are unwilling to wait until tomorrow. Today, we can choose to prioritize our precious moments with our values. Today, we can choose to laugh and play and have fun. I don’t know about you, but that is a non-negotiable in my business plan. That’s your power, to write your own business plan, in your own format, challenging every single limitation you currently subscribe to. Be the epic CEO that you are, and execute your mission statement, like the quality of your life depends on it, because it does.
I have so much gratitude to you for reading this and considering my point of view as something worthy of your precious energy. To know that your “CEO” is choosing to do this is an absolute honor of the highest to me.
Thank you,
Andrea Dawn
