The Peace Recipe

Peaceful

Present Energy Anointed, Cast, and Enjoyed For Ultimate Liberation

If you had to choose a FEELING that you wanted to feel most, what would it be? And yes, it is true that we are ultimately not our feelings, we are our hridayam or soul essence, that which is beyond the limitations of feelings. Yet, if you are anything like me, for most of my moments, in most of my days, I am identifying with the way that I FEEL. Maybe that places me in spiritual kindergarten. But, if yoga has taught me anything, it’s to be honest about where I am, so that I can actually meet myself there, rather than pretend I’m in spiritual high school, a definite recipe for disaster. It would be like trying to learn calculus before I have learned how to count to 20. Anywho, if I can simply be in kindergarten without spending all my days wishing I was in high school, then maybe, I have a chance at detaching who I am with how I feel in this lifetime.

So back to the OG question of what feeling you would want to feel most? For me, it would be to feel peaceful, to feel at ease with whatever is, to stop allowing circumstance to dictate the absolute most precious thing I could ever own, my NOW. There is No Other Way. Literally, if we try to look past our NOW, we could imagine a yellow, diamond shaped, sign that states: no outlet, because it is impossible to plug ourselves into some future or past moment. I want to feel Peaceful which I have defined as: Present Energy Anointed, Cast, and Enjoyed for Ultimate Liberation. If I have the power to anoint or make sacred my presence in this present moment, then I have given myself the most epic opportunity ever, the chance to explore all that is right here for me to explore, like your smile, or the way the sunlight dances upon the ceiling, or the rare, one- of- a- kind painting on the sky canvas just begging me to look up and see her moment by moment masterpiece. When we choose to be our worry, our depression, our jealousy or our judgements, it’s like we are taking the most thoughtful, wonderful birthday gift from our beloved and throwing it in the trash bin without giving a shit what’s inside.

Most days, we are refusing the gift of life, with the piss-poor excuse that we will enjoy it when: we land the new job, or when we have the perfect relationship, or when we fit in our skinny jeans, or when it’s the weekend, or when we own our dream home in Guatemala. However, doing yoga, or taking a bike ride, or feeling our toes in the soft Florida grass (joke), or hugging our bestie, doesn’t get to happen out there in some day, it gets to happen right here, right now.

When we start to allow ourselves to feel our blessings today, we get to be our blessings today, which then allows us the occasion to cast those blessings out into the world. Holy moly! Now, we get to cast the spell of our blessing onto every single encounter and interaction that we have, wether it be with another human, the planet Earth, or even our objects. This spell works two fold. This spell blesses and it also replenishes. It’s like a boomerang, to cast out sacred anointed presence is to receive that same sacred anointed presence that life is infinitely, ever so patiently, offering us in every moment. And that is the enjoyment. To actually enjoy being yourself in your gift of now, given to you by the beloved Life, to experience the ultimate liberation of being the one to, (regardless of circumstance, regardless of that argument, or that financial loss, or that cancer diagnosis), take the opportunity as often as you can to, love yourself and your life so damn much that you choose to receive her daily, open her up, squeal with excitement at the contents, and then watch your boomerang of anointed presence cast peace spells all over this planet.

Muchas Gracias dear ones. It’s been a hot minute since I have blogged, as I am working on launching my first book…eaaaaak! I am so grateful for your continued interest and the time spent investing in expanding your mind and considering my thoughts as worthy. May the Peaceful acronym serve as a portal into the ever present NOW and may you be blessed to experience all of its eternal magic.

Peace Peace Peace,

Shanti Shanti Shanti
